Program Description

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and Erie Insurance Group have partnered to provide financial resources to assist outstanding Latino students.  This scholarship is open to sophomore and junior students in selected majors.  The award amount is $5,000 for each awardee and applicants must show an interest in the insurance industry.  Applicants may be eligible for Erie's Future Focus internship program. 

Eligibility Requirements

• Be of Hispanic heritage
• Be a U.S. Citizen, legal permanent resident or eligible Non-U.S. citizen
• Must be majoring in one of the following:  Information Technology (IT/MIS), Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics/Actuarial Sciences or Business Administration
• Be a undergraduate sophomore or junior during the 2012-2013 academic year, enrolled full-time at a four-year accredited U.S. institution in one of the following states below
• Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Must have a permanent address or attend an institution in one of the following states:
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Maryland
  • New York
  • North Carolina
  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania
  • Tennessee
  • Virginia
  • West Virginia
  • Washington, D.C.
  • Wisconsin
• Priority given to dependents of Erie Insurance employees
• Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
• Must provide resume and cover letter outlining interest/desire for a career in the insurance industry
