Program Description

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and ExxonMobil have partnered to provide financial resources to outstanding Latino undergraduate students. Awards are in the amount of $2,500 and are disbursed in Fall 2013.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be of Hispanic heritage 
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States with a valid Social Security Number at the time of application. All legal permanent residents must submit a copy of their valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired)
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale
  • Be a full-time Sophomore, Junior or Senior during the 2013-2014 academic year
  • Must be majoring in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering
  • Preference will be given to students at the following universities in the 2013-2014 year:
    • Colorado School of Mines
    • Lamar University
    • Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Mechanical College
    • Stanford University
    • Texas A&M, College Station
    • Texas Tech University
    • University of Florida
    • University of Houston, Main Campus
    • University of Oklahoma
    • University of Texas, Austin
    • University of Texas, El Paso
    • University of Texas, Pan American
    • Worcester Polytechnic Institute
  • Must submit a resume
  • Must submit a signed and completed Media Release Form
  • May be interviewed for a possible summer 2014 internship
  • Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
