Program Description

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund and the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Bacardi Gold have partnered to provide financial assistance to outstanding male and female Latino students. In addition to excelling in the classroom, these individuals are leaders in the community who exemplify the values of volunteerism and service.

The Gold Standard Scholarship Program provides academic scholarships of $10,000 to be disbursed in Fall 2011 to local students in six NBA markets (New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans, and Boston). Each of these recipients will be automatically eligible for a larger national scholarship of $30,000 via an online competition to be awarded at a national NBA event.

If you wish to bypass the General application (step 2 of the online process), simply enter "GOLD STANDARD" in the General applications essays and then hit "submit".
