Program Description

Google and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund have partnered to provide financial resources to high-performing Latino undergraduate and graduate students interested in a career in the field of computer science. Awards are in the amount of $10,000 and are disbursed in fall 2013.

Awardees will be invited to attend Google's Scholars' retreat held in summer 2013 with all expenses paid. Google will contact students regarding the retreat. 

Eligibility Requirements 

• Be of Hispanic heritage
• Be a U.S. Citizen or a legal permanent resident with permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired)
• Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale
• Must enroll FULL-TIME at a four-year or graduate level U.S. accredited institution in the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands or Guam in the 2013-2014 academic year
• Must be a Junior, Senior, or 5th year Senior in 2013-2014
• OR must be a graduate student in a Masters or Doctorate program in 2013-2014
• Must be majoring in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering (with a heavy computer science course load)
• Must submit a resume with the application
• Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
