Program Description

Available to Latino students classified as Georgia residents for tuition purposes.  Students must plan to enroll at the University of Georgia in the 2009-2010 academic year as undergraduates or transfer students.  This is a single year award of $2,500 to be disbursed in Fall 2009.

All students welcome to apply with priority given to students who have graduated from the following high schools:

Campbell, Cedar Shoals, Centennial, Chestatee, Clarke Central, Cross Keys, Dalton, Duluth, East Hall, Gainesville, Johnson, Meadowcreek, Norcross, Northwest Whitfield, Southeast Whitfield, Tri Cities

Eligibility Requirements

• Be of Hispanic heritage.
• Be a U.S. Citizen or a legal permanent resident with permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired)
• Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale
• Must be a Georgia resident
• Must plan to enroll FULL-TIME at the University of Georgia during the 2009-2010 academic year
• Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
• Students must demonstrate financial need with priority given to students who are Pell grant eligible and those who have unmet need.
