Program Description

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and Atrisco Heritage Foundation have partnered to provide scholarship awards to assist outstanding Latinos who are heirs of the Atrisco Land Grant of New Mexico.  Applicants may reside nationwide and be graduating high school seniors, undergraduate students or graduate students.  The award amount is $2,000 to be disbursed in Fall 2010.

Please note, these scholarships are only available to verified heirs of the Atrisco Land Grant.

In order to access this application, students will first need to contact the Atrisco Companies to verify heirship.  Please contact Anita Lucero at (505) 836-0306 to obtain your Heir Registration Number.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be of Hispanic heritage 
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired)
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Must be a verified heir of the Atrisco Land Grant.
  • Have plans to enroll FULL-TIME in a degree seeking program at a two or four year U.S. accredited institution in the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands or Guam during the 2010-2011 academic year.
  • Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) 
  • Be pursuing first undergraduate or graduate degree
