SAT II tests measure students' knowledge in five tests areas (see below). These tests are offered, like the SAT, on Saturday mornings throughout the school year. [Students cannot take the SAT and SAT II tests on the same day!]
Students must register for the tests. Some college require students to take three tests (usually Writing, Math and one of the student's choice). Not all universities require SAT II, so students should check the universities requirements before registering for any SAT II tests.
These are one hour tests that colleges use in several ways:

• to determine how prepared students are for different college programs
• to decide where to place students in college course work
• to advise students on course selection

When should students take these tests?
For some tests, such as Biology, Chemistry or World History, students should register to take the tests at the end of the year they take the course.
Otherwise, students should plan to take tests at the end of Senior Year, such as language or math for placement purposes.
