College to Carreer
Back to Getting Ready

Hispanics are the work force of the future. According to the Census Bureau, Hispanics will be the largest ethnic minority in the U.S. by the year 2005. If current growth rates continue, by the year 2050 Hispanics will number 100 million, nearly 25 percent of the U.S. population. The impact on corporate America is clear. As we approach the next century, Hispanics (and other minorities) will comprise an ever larger segment of the U.S. work force. Therefore, career opportunities for college-educated Hispanics have never been greater.

Finding the right career out of college is not a matter of luck. It requires careful planning, persistence, and a number of skills in addition to those you've learned at school. The key to a successful job hunt is knowledge: Knowing yourself, your strengths and weaknesses, as well as your potential employer. It is important to know for what jobs you are qualified, and what sort of companies are best suited to your needs.
