3M has partnered with HSF since 2019, supporting HSF Scholarships, Support Services, and the HSF STEM Summit.  The STEM Summit is an annual Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math conference that gives the best and brightest HSF STEM Scholars an inside track to career success in STEM fields, through a combination of mentoring, professional insights, and career guidance.

More than a century ago, 3M started as a small-scale mining venture in Northern Minnesota, then named Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company. Today it is a diversified, global company that manufactures a range of products that included abrasives, adhesive tape and related products, and consumer-electronics components. It is headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Through both corporate giving and the 3M Foundation, the company supports initiatives that impact communities and provide solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Focus areas include supporting underrepresented and underserved individuals to advance in STEM and skilled trades and addressing environmental challenges such as climate change and the need for a circular economy.

3M Foundation also seeks to help communities improve their standards of living, prepare youth for life-long success, increase access to quality and diverse arts opportunities, and contribute to global humanitarian relief efforts.
