AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR COMPANY RENEWS PARTNERSHIP WITH HSF VIA $50,000 GIFT TO SUPPORT STEM SUMMIT

Jun 25, 2019

June 25, 2019, LOS ANGELES –The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), the nation’s largest nonprofit organization supporting Hispanic American higher education, today announced that American Honda Motor Company (Honda) has renewed its longtime commitment to HSF’s mission, through a gift of $50,000 to help support the 2019 STEM Summit, to be held in San Jose, CA, September 5 – 8, 2019.

The HSF STEM Summit is an annual Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math conference that gives the best and brightest HSF STEM Scholars (rising college juniors and seniors) an inside track to career success in STEM fields, through a combination of mentoring, professional insights, and career guidance. Each summer, a select group of rising junior and senior students are chosen as delegates from a highly competitive pool of current HSF STEM Scholars. Attendees are given the opportunity to interact with some of the leading Hispanic STEM professionals in our country and gain insights on how to achieve excellence, both academically and professionally.

“We are delighted to receive Honda’s partnership renewal commitment that now celebrates sixteen years, in the form of a generous donation to support our fourth annual STEM Summit,” said Fidel A. Vargas, President & CEO, Hispanic Scholarship Fund. “Our Scholars who have an interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics will be among those who push the envelope for the benefit of mankind, forging new frontiers in fields of vital importance to America and the world.

In addition to its other elements, the STEM Summit features a Career Expo, which offers Scholars the opportunity to meet with corporate talent recruiters to interview for internships and full-time jobs with HSF Corporate Partners, including Honda, and to receive one-on-one career coaching from HSF Alumni and other top professionals and HSF Career Center staff, on a range of topics, from career advice to resumes and interview preparation.
