HSF PROGRAM TO HELP SAN ANTONIO STUDENTS, PARENTS, PREPARE, PLAN, AND PAY FOR COLLEGE

Feb 27, 2020

LOS ANGELES, CA, February 27, 2020– The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), the nation’s largest nonprofit organization supporting Hispanic American higher education, in partnership with Wells Fargo & Company (Wells Fargo), Toyota Motor North America (Toyota), FedEx, Republic National Distributing Company, and Edgewood Independent School District, will be hosting a College 101 informational workshop, for middle and high school students and their parents, on the Edgewood Fine Arts Academy campus, in San Antonio, Texas, on Thursday, February 27, 2020.

College 101 is a free, bilingual, two-hour program that provides valuable information to middle and high school students, and their parents, about how best to prepare, plan, and pay for college. The sessions, which are offered on weekday evenings to accommodate parents who work weekends, address the steps necessary to plan for a college education, apply for scholarships, and research additional financial aid opportunities.

“HSF is thrilled to be able to host College 101 in San Antonio, and provide crucial information to local students and their parents, on what it takes to prepare for a college track. The workshop’s practical, how-to approach, not only informs and empowers them, but provides a roadmap that they would otherwise have to piece together for themselves,” said Fidel A. Vargas, President & CEO of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. “Thanks to the generous support of Wells Fargo, Toyota, FedEx, Republic National Distributing Company, and Edgewood Independent School District, we will have the opportunity to transform lives in the region!”

Participants will be able to interact with HSF Scholars, staff, Alumni, as well as other supporters, including business leaders, sponsors, and educators, from the local community.
