KOCH INDUSTRIES & THE CHARLES KOCH FOUNDATION CONTRIBUTE $1M TOWARD HSF ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUMMIT

Mar 20, 2019

Los Angeles, CA (March 20, 2019) - The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), the nation’s largest nonprofit organization supporting Hispanic American higher education, announced today that Koch Industries and the Charles Koch Foundation are donating $1 million to help fund HSF Entrepreneurship Summit in 2019 and 2020. Koch Industries and the Charles Koch Foundation are each providing $250,000 per year.

The annual HSF Entrepreneurship Summit introduces HSF Scholars to the value and importance of developing an entrepreneurial mindset. HSF invites a select group of exceptional Scholars who have demonstrated academic excellence and leadership during their college careers to a four-day, experiential learning conference where they are empowered with knowledge experiences that enable them to be entrepreneurial in any setting or career they pursue.

“The HSF Entrepreneurship Summit is an essential programmatic component of the work we do with our Scholars, and we are excited to be able to bring it to life in partnership with Koch Industries and the Charles Koch Foundation,” said Fidel A. Vargas, President & CEO, Hispanic Scholarship Fund. “By introducing Scholars to the importance of developing an entrepreneurial mindset, we intend to instill a set of key principles that will inspire them to pursue and accomplish their grandest goals; to achieve personal and professional success; to gain financial freedom; and to give back and do good.”

“We believe that everyone can become a lifelong learner and succeed,” said Brennan Brown, director of education partnerships for the Charles Koch Foundation. “By supporting the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and these exceptional, entrepreneurial-minded students, we hope each discovers their own aptitudes and creatively applies what they’ve learned to help others reach their full potential, developing a sense of fulfillment along the way.”
