Founded in 1852 and headquartered in San Francisco, Wells Fargo & Company is a nationwide, diversified financial services company, providing banking, investments, mortgages, and consumer and commercial finance services. The Fortune 100 company has more than 7,200 locations and 13,000 ATMs, in 31 countries and territories, worldwide.
Wells Fargo employs a holistic approach to social responsibility. For example, it promotes access to higher education and sponsors scholarships for underserved populations, while supporting small-business growth and promoting minority entrepreneurs through its commercial banking programs.
In line with this approach, the company has partnered with HSF since 1999, funding scholarships, and support services for tens of thousands of students, parents, HSF Scholars, and Alumni, across the nation. In addition, Wells Fargo has sponsored numerous HSF programs and events, where its employees and leadership have also served as mentors, career coaches, and/or volunteers.
In 2018, Wells Fargo partnered with HSF to launch the Wells Fargo Academic Leaders Fellowship Program. This highly selective scholarship covers the cost of an undergraduate education for Pell-eligible students, with the intent of promoting their academic excellence and leadership development through college graduation. In addition to financial support, the program provides each fellow with a certified mentor.
