HSF BOARD CHAIR AND TIME WARNER’S TOP LATINA EXEC GARCIA QUIROZ TO DEPART YEAR END FOR ACADEMIA

October 12, 2017 – Los Angeles– Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is proud to announce that HSF Board Chair, Lisa Garcia Quiroz, who is Senior Vice President, and Chief Diversity Officer and President of the Time Warner Foundation, will be leaving her role at Time Warner at the end of this year, after a distinguished 27-year career with the company, to spend the spring academic semester at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government where she has been named a Hauser Leader-in-Residence at the Center for Public Leadership (CPL). When her term ends, she will take some much-needed time off to explore the next chapter of her life.

Lisa’s career has been marked by a series of firsts at the global media company. She started her career at Time Inc. after graduating from Harvard Business School and she went on to successfully launch two magazines, TIME for Kids, the classroom news publication, and People en Español, People’s Spanish-language spin-off for the US Latino market. A little over a decade ago, she joined corporate to lead the reimagination and relaunch of the Time Warner Foundation and was later named the company’s first Chief Diversity Officer.

Lisa has been a mentor to countless employees and executives across the company and has been a generous and compassionate friend to many here. I am not alone in saying that I will miss working with her and know that she will continue to make her mark in whatever she chooses to do next.”
