Feb 22, 2016

With a Gift to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund

Los Angeles, CA (February 22, 2016) - The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), the nation’s largest not-for-profit organization supporting Hispanic American higher education, announced today that its long-standing partner, the Monsanto Fund, is renewing its commitment to higher education for Latino youth with a contribution of $125,000 towards college scholarships.

The contribution will be used to provide scholarships to Hispanic students enrolled in accredited not-for-profit, 4-year colleges or universities during the 2016-2017 academic year. The financial support the students receive will help them cover tuition, books, supplies, and other essentials.

“HSF values the Monsanto Fund’s sustained commitment to our cause, and this renewed support will further our mission to help more deserving Hispanic American students, than ever, make it to, and through, college," said Fidel A. Vargas, President & CEO, Hispanic Scholarship Fund. “We are grateful to have Monsanto as our partner and salute the company’s enduring bond with the Hispanic community.”

The scholarships funded by this new gift from the Monsanto Fund will range from $500 to $5,000, based on merit and according to need. Together with HSF’s related programs and services, the financial support provided will help exceptional Latino students across the country complete a higher education and go on to become leaders in their professions and communities.
