Originally from Boise, Idaho, Andrew’s early experiences were shaped by community involvement, leadership, service, and hands-on learning. Through Scouts BSA, he developed a strong foundation in leadership and service, ultimately earning the rank of Eagle Scout. His participation in FIRST Robotics introduced him to computer science and to Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), the university he would later attend . During his senior year of high school, Andrew earned the Congressional Award Bronze Medal and was named a Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) Scholar. He continued to give back through volunteer and alumni activities while in college and beyond. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science and Data Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he combined technical coursework with applied, interdisciplinary projects. For his Interactive Qualifying Project, Andrew and his team analyzed the branding structure of one of the largest poetry organizations in Germany, Haus für Poesie, as well as its impact within Germany and the broader poetry community beyond the country. They then provided recommendations to support the organization’s outreach and engagement efforts. For his Major Qualifying Project (capstone), Andrew helped develop a smart glasses application designed to assist blind and visually impaired users with greater independence. The project received university recognition for its innovation and impact. Prior to joining Datadog in New York City in 2025, Andrew gained software engineering experience through internships at HP Inc. and LinkedIn. He now serves as a Software Engineer on Datadog’s Analytics and Data Platform Developer Experience team, building and supporting the infrastructure that enables engineers across the company to develop, deploy, and maintain data platform services efficiently. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys camping, cooking, and photography, and continues to pursue opportunities for learning, service, and exploration.
